Jamie joined us in January 2020. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in the Chemical & Materials Engineering Department at UNR. Outside of school, he likes latin dancing, soccer, drawing, playing guitar and hiking.

Apart from his academic pursuits, he enjoys playing basketball and has a passion for music..

Amir joined us in August 2017. He received his B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Mashhad, Iran, in 2013. Afterward, he received his M.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2015.

Pranay joined us in January 2017 (co-advised with Dr. Yan Wang). He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2011. Before starting his Ph.D., he worked in a combined cycle power plant as an operation engineer.
Project: Effect of mechanical defects and microstructures on thermal transport and thermal-mechanical processes in materials.
Current position: Assistant Professor at Southern Arkansas University

Tengfei joined us in August 2017 (co-advised with Dr. Yan Wang). He received his B.Eng. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Wuhan University (WHU), Wuhan, China in 2014. Prior to his Ph.D. he earned a M.Eng. degree in Power Engineering from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), Beijing, China in 2017.
Project: Phase-field modeling of dislocation avalanches in polycrystals.
Current position: Engineer at Seismic Imaging Analyst

Ms. Xixi joined us in Fall 2018. She received her B.Eng. degree in Materials Processing and Control from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (WHU), Wuhan, China in 2015. She earned a M.Eng. degree in Materials Processing Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Outside of school, she likes listening to music and watching movies.

Dr. Ehsan Moshkelgosha joined our group in Summer 2021. He obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Boise State University, Boise, in 2021. With a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ehsan has worked in the computational materials science area for 10 years. He is an expert in finite element modeling and numerical analysis in the area of materials science and mechanical engineering. .

Current position:Engineer at Optimum Engineering Solutions Inc.

Ms. Daniela is a McNair Scholars and joined us in March 2020. She is a sophomore in the Mechanical Engineering department. Outside of school, she likes hiking and working out.
